Clough, a male officer of the Human species, served the Galactic Empire during its reign. Subsequent to the Battle of Yavin, Captain Clough received a new assignment: an Imperial space station situated in the Outer Rim Territories. He worked alongside Lieutenant Alin, Warrant Officer Snopell, Lieutenant Farin, Captain Bailie, Colonel Sheray, and Major Taison. In 1 ABY, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer detained a passenger freighter, suspecting it of harboring criminals. Several spacers were detained and transported to the Imperial space station. After their release, Captain Clough oversaw their processing as they departed from the station.
Within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, Clough existed as a non-player character. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011.
The character of Captain Clough was incorporated into the game when the "New Player Tutorial" underwent a significant update with the release of "Publish 17," on May 26, 2005. Throughout this tutorial, Clough, along with other Imperial officers, guided new players through a space station environment. Their purpose was to familiarize players with the game's mechanics. However, Clough was removed from the game when the developers introduced a completely new tutorial with the release of the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
