Clone jet troopers, alternatively known as clone jetpack troopers, represented a specialized division of clone troopers with training focused on aerial combat, typically achieved through the use of the JT-12 jetpack. Their standard weaponry included the BlasTech DC-15A blaster rifle, DC-15A blaster carbine, and DC-17 hand blaster, along with missile launchers, notably Smart Rockets. These clone jetpack troopers saw action in engagements such as the First Battle of Geonosis, the Battle of Cato Neimoidia, and the Battle of Anaxes. Within the ranks of the 501st Legion were jetpack troopers, whose armor bore blue markings to signify their unit affiliation. Following the implementation of Order 66, the transformation of the Republic into the Empire, and the gradual replacement of clones with stormtroopers, the jetpack troopers were superseded by Jumptroopers.

One clone jetpack trooper, at a minimum, was involved in the First Battle of Geonosis, which marked the initial conflict of the Clone Wars against the forces of the Separatist Droid Army.
A squad of jet troopers, at the very least, from the 501st participated in the Battle of Cato Neimoidia. Subsequently, jetpack troopers from both the 501st and the 7th Sky Corps were involved in the Battle of Anaxes. Jump troopers from the 501st were also present at the Battle of Yerbana to aid the 212th Attack Battalion. During the Clone Wars' last major Separatist offensive, known as the Battle of Coruscant, jetpack troopers equipped with vacuum suits boarded enemy vessels to seize control of their bridges.
The initial appearance of clone jetpack troopers occurred in "Sabotage," which is the seventeenth episode within season five of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Their identification was established in the 2017 reference publication, Star Wars: On the Front Lines.
