Clan Gedyc

Clan Gedyc represented one of the many Mandalorian clans. After the Mandalorian Excision event, the New Mandalorian group, which advocated for peace, gained prominence. This led to a split within Clan Gedyc, as some members supported the pacifistic New Mandalorians, while others remained loyal to the traditional warrior clans.

By the year 19 BBY, Lorka Gedyc had risen to become the leader of Death Watch. This was a radical offshoot faction of Mandalorians that yearned for the return of the ancient conqueror traditions of the Mandalorians. Under Gedyc's command, Death Watch forged an alliance with the newly-risen Galactic Empire, assisting the Empire in establishing a garrisoned presence on the Mandalorian homeworld of Mandalore.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Clan Gedyc occurred when Lorka Gedyc appeared in the novel Imperial Commando: 501st. This novel was written by author Karen Traviss and was released on October 27, 2009. However, it wasn't until the 2013 publication of The Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett, a reference book focused on bounty hunter, that Clan Gedyc was officially established in Star Wars canon.
