Clan Beroya existed as a Mandalorian clan during the Galactic War, a time of conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire in the time of legends. Jos Beroya and Valk Beroya, a married couple, were among the clan's members; they fought alongside Shae Vizla and her clan. On the Outer Rim world of Rishi, Vizla trained with the Beroyas and her own people at their complex located on Tracyn Island. After Mandalore the Vindicated fell in battle against the Eternal Empire's forces, Shae Vizla took his place as Mand'alor. Vizla, now known as "Mandalore the Avenger," called the Mandalorians to war against Zakuul, and Clan Beroya answered her call, joining her on Darvannis for a raid targeting the Empire's factories.
Many years down the line, Clan Beroya had formed connections with Clan Awaud. Nam Beroya, a veteran soldier, eventually became the chieftain of Clan Awaud, leading them from before the outbreak of the Clone Wars to the early days of the Galactic Civil War. Following Nam's presumed death in a battle with Zygerrian slavers, his adopted daughter Vera Beroya succeeded him as the new chieftain of Clan Awaud.
Clan Beroya was originally featured in the Star Wars universe through the Shadow of Revan expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the MMOORPG by BioWare, which came out on December 9, 2014. Clan Beroya members appeared again in The Old Republic's 2015 expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, as well as in Friends Like These, a roleplaying game adventure book released by Fantasy Flight Games on December 8, 2016.
In Mando'a, the Mandalorian language, "Beroya" translates to "Bounty Hunter."
