Chedak Communications was a communications corporation that focused its efforts on manufacturing ship-based subspace radios, comlinks, and holoprojectors. In addition to their manufacturing business, they also possessed a number of broadcast networks and entertainment production studios. Chedak generated substantial revenue by selling their products to the entertainment sector; however, the rise of the Galactic Empire and its subsequent crackdown on media outlets led to a decline in Chedak's profitability. Despite these challenges, Chedak persevered and, in the initial period of the New Republic, expanded its operations to include news reporting, providing coverage of the Galactic Civil War directly from the war zones.
