The Bounty Brokers Association, also known as the BBA, existed throughout the Cold War and the Galactic War. Its purpose was to manage bounty assignments for bounty hunters.
When the volume of available bounties surpassed what professional bounty hunters could manage, the BBA extended contracts to other qualified people, regardless of their allegiances. With offices on both the Galactic Republic's Carrick Station and the Sith Empire's Vaiken Spacedock, the BBA gave potential contractors the names and whereabouts of bounty-posting clients. The contractor was then responsible for all other aspects of the job, including contacting the client for more information, obtaining clues about the bounty's location from information broker's, tracking, and either killing or capturing the target alone. Once proof of completion was received, the BBA would distribute the rewards. New recruits were only permitted to take on simpler, lower-paying bounties on minor figures; contracts for valuable, risky targets were only awarded to those who had already demonstrated their competence to the BBA.
