Boba Fett: Hunted

Boba Fett: Hunted represents the fourth installment in a series of novels aimed at young readers. These novels recount the exploits of Boba Fett in the period spanning from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones to Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Publisher's summary

His inaugural assignment could very well be his last.

The young Boba Fett finds himself amidst criminals, mercenaries, and thieves on the desolate planet of Tatooine. Driven by his ambition to become a bounty hunter, he seeks out the most notorious crime lord of them all—Jabba the Hutt.

However, locating Jabba the Hutt is no easy feat, nor is gaining his approval. When Boba finally manages to find the crime lord, Jabba presents him with a proposition: a single mission, a solitary opportunity. He must successfully capture a dangerous target…or face the consequences.

This is the most significant challenge Boba Fett has encountered thus far—a trial that will shape his destiny.

Plot summary

Boba Fett is on a quest to locate Jabba Desilijic Tiure. After finding him, he and Durge are hired to apprehend Gilramos Libkath, who is wanted for stealing from Jabba and subjecting children to torture, including implanting devices that will kill them if they ever leave Tatooine. Boba pilfers Libkath's hat, while Durge initiates an attack on Libkath, firing shots that cause crates to explode, seemingly eliminating Durge, Libkath, and his accompanying droids. Boba then delivers Libkath's hat to Jabba, thereby fulfilling the terms of the contract.

Development

Gab'borah Hise recounts to Boba that he was once a prosperous chef at the Mos Eisley Cantina until Jabba Desilijic Tiure presented him with an "offer he couldn't refuse," an allusion to The Godfather.
