Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda represents the introductory issue within the Boba Fett collection of standalone comic books. John Wagner served as the writer, while Cam Kennedy provided the illustrations. Dark Horse Comics officially released it on December 5 of 1995.
He achieved the feat of delivering Han Solo to both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt. Throughout the galaxy, even the most hardened criminals tremble upon hearing his name… Boba Fett!
Set following the occurrences of Star Wars: Dark Empire II, a Hutt's misplaced affections instigate a bounty contract on a distant world. Hired by this Hutt, Boba Fett is in pursuit of an intergalactic magician who potentially holds the key to the Hutt's future. The magician's demise presents only a minor obstacle for the bounty hunter, as even the deceased cannot evade Boba Fett!
Despite the publisher's summary for Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda, in addition to the "Pulp Faction" article featured in the sixth issue of the Star Wars Galaxy Magazine both suggesting that the happenings of the comic issue unfold after those of Star Wars: Dark Empire II, The New Essential Guide to Characters alongside the ninety-seventh issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File both imply an ordering where they actually precede the events of that series. Star Wars: The Comics Companion, which typically organizes the comic narratives it contains in in-universe chronological sequence, positions Bounty on Bar-Kooda, dated as "ten years after A New Hope," following Dark Empire II ("ten years after A New Hope") but also situated between the Star Wars: Empire's End and Crimson Empire series (both "eleven years after A New Hope").
