Black Nine, a Type II Orbital Repair Yard, functioned as a component of the Imperial Navy. It was under the command of Black Sword Command and was positioned within the Koornacht Cluster.
During the Yevetha's uprising against the Empire in 4 ABY, they seized control of the shipyard. Subsequently, the gas giant planet [Prildaz], located in the ILC-905 system, became its new location. Later, in 16 ABY, the New Republic deployed forces to Koornacht as a reaction to the horrific Yevethan Purge. During this time, a squadron under the leadership of Commodore Brand, commanding the cruiser Indomitable, located Black Nine. The ensuing Battle of ILC-905 saw the destruction of the yard and the thrustships defending it.
