Bink Kitik

Bink Kitik, a Human female ghost thief, assisted the smuggler Han Solo in 0 ABY during an elaborate heist that took place on the planet Wukkar. Her twin sister, Tavia Kitik, an expert in electronics, frequently aided her in her endeavors. The sisters often used their similar appearances to confuse their targets, but while Bink relished her life of crime, Tavia was a reluctant, though highly skilled, participant in their schemes.

Biography

Bink Kitik seduces Cristoff.

During the era of the Galactic Empire, Bink Kitik, a Human female ghost thief, operated as the identical twin of Tavia Kitik, an accomplished electronics specialist. Bink and Tavia were orphaned by the time they reached the age of ten years. Their father met his death during the Clone Wars, and their mother passed away a few years later. On one occasion, the sisters journeyed aboard a luxury liner bound for the planet Kailor V, where Bink initiated a romantic pursuit of the businessman Cristoff with the intention of pilfering his jewels, sharing meals with him at the captain's table on numerous occasions. Her initial strategy involved hoping for an invitation from Cristoff to his stateroom on the ship, enabling her to infiltrate his safe and seize his valuable gems. However, despite receiving multiple invitations to visit her cabin, he never extended a similar offer to escort her to his own quarters. During her interactions with Cristoff, Bink concealed a sensor mesh, designed by Tavia, beneath her attire to determine the location on his person where Cristoff carried the keycard to his room.

Bink steals from Cristoff.

On the final evening of the cruise, while the liner was connected to the Kailor V transfer station, Tavia, posing as her sister, created a distraction for Cristoff. Meanwhile, Bink gained entry to his stateroom using a duplicate of his keycard, which Tavia had crafted using data obtained from the sensor mesh. By analyzing the chemicals released from his body due to his consumption of falpas sauce, Bink ascertained the specific numbers he had entered on his safe's keypad, as well as the frequency with which he had touched them. Leveraging her knowledge of his personal background, she deduced that the correct password was the date and CTE market number of a corporate takeover that brought Cristoff wealth and power, and she opened to safe and stole some of the gems that lay within.

At some point, Bink and Tavia journeyed to Danteel City, intending to rob the vault belonging to Veilred Jydor, a prominent casino owner. They were also collaborating with Zerba Cher'dak, a Balosar con artist. While there, Bink noticed Lando Calrissian, a human gambler who was present for a high-stakes sabacc game hosted by Jydor as a means of selling a valuable statue, a Tchine. However, upon discovering that Jydor's business manager, Darim Chumu, had committed murder to acquire another Tchine, Bink, Tavia, and Zerba joined forces with Calrissian to expose Chumu.

In 0 ABY, Bink and Tavia became members of a criminal group assembled by the smuggler Han Solo to steal the wealth of Avrak Villachor, a Black Sun official, from a vault located on the planet Wukkar.

Solo and his Wookiee companion Chewbacca encountered the sisters while they were in the process of completing a heist. As Bink rejoined her sister, Solo extended an offer: a share of 163 million credits in exchange for their successful robbery of Villachor. Intrigued, Bink and Tavia accepted the proposition. Villachor had stolen the credits in credit tabs from a local man named Eanjer Kunarazti after murdering Eanjer's family, and the man had hired Solo to recover them. To execute the heist, Solo recruited a substantial team, including the twins.

Bink's role as a ghost thief involved assisting with the infiltration of Villachor's vault. Her initial task was to penetrate a suite of hotel rooms at the Lulina Crown Hotel, which were occupied by visitors of Villachor. The team soon identified these visitors as Black Sun Falleen. Employing a manual cable rig to traverse the trees of a courtyard, Bink successfully breached the hotel rooms and discovered a safe. Upon cracking the safe, Bink found a cryodex encryption device, but not the credit tabs they sought. Thanks to a diversion created by Dozer Creed, another member of Solo's team, Bink managed to escape without being detected by Villachor's associates.

The subsequent phase of the plan involved some of Solo's team members discreetly approaching Villachor in an attempt to instigate a defection; however, the plan was a deception designed to gain access to Villachor's vault. As part of this scheme, Bink assumed the identity of a local businesswoman and was tasked with ingratiating herself with Lapis Sheqoa, Villachor's security chief, to glean information about the security measures protecting the vault during the Festival of Four Honorings, a Wukkar celebration.

Personality and traits

Bink possessed a more laid-back and carefree attitude towards life compared to her sister Tavia. She was a proficient thief and adept at manipulating men to further her criminal pursuits.

Behind the scenes

Timothy Zahn conceived Bink Kitik as a character for his novel Scoundrels, which was published in January 2013. Prior to the novel's release, Kitik was mentioned in the guidebook The Essential Reader's Companion, and she appeared in Heist, a short story written by Zahn as a tie-in to the novel and published in the magazine Star Wars Insider 138. She is also featured in the e-book novella Winner Lose All, another tie-in to Scoundrels that was also written by Zahn.
