The Big One refers to a sizable comet that resided inside the Cularin comet cloud, situated within the Cularin system. In the era of the Clone Wars, the Comet Broom Service endeavored to direct the comet into the orbit around the planet Almas. This was a component of the Cometary Water Reclamation Project, a mission initiated under the orders of the Dark Jedi Garth Ezzar. To tarnish the reputation of the Jedi Order, Ezzar undermined the project, implicating Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk in the scheme. He aimed to create the illusion that the Jedi intended to deliberately crash the comet into the Almas Sith fortress located on Almas, endangering those who lived there. Nevertheless, the Heroes of Cularin intervened, successfully foiling the scheme and averting the Big One's collision with Almas.
