Benjamin A. Burtt is a sound editor whose work can be heard in the The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian series, both found on the Disney+ streaming service. He is the offspring of Ben Burtt, who received an Academy Award for sound editing on the 1977 motion picture Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, in addition to contributing to numerous other Star Wars projects.
Burtt the younger's career began while he was still a high school student, when his father dispatched him to Sydney, Australia to gather sound effects to be used in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Subsequently, he served as an apprentice under his father, digitizing older sound archives, before securing a permanent position at Skywalker Sound as a sound-effects editor, collaborating with individuals such as J.R. Grubbs on The Mandalorian and David W. Collins on The Book of Boba Fett.
