The battlebird existed as a species of avian creature native to the planet Orimanther, situated within the Outer Rim Territories, as documented in world lore. In the closing years of the Galactic Republic era, the Chevin slaver Phylus Mon journeyed to Orimanther with the intention of capturing a group of these battlebirds. His initial efforts proved fruitless, leading him to seek an alternative approach: meditation, followed by an attempt to employ a Force storm in order to bring the birds down from the air.
