During the initial years of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire contracted the First Sun Mobile Regiment mercenary group to assault a remote outpost located within the galaxy. This outpost was suspected of providing shelter to individuals sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance. After the mercenaries annihilated the settlement, Moff Nile Owen commanded the extermination of the First Sun regiment due to Imperial Intelligence's lack of time to question the inhabitants. This order was carried out, leaving only approximately a dozen survivors, among them Matt Talon.
