During the Clone Wars, a vast galactic war fought between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic, the Jedi Order dispatched Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Keelyvine Reus, along with Padawan Tyzen Xebec, accompanied by a contingent of clone troopers, to assess the integrity of the energy shield protecting the planet. The Republic was concerned that the native Ukians might not be adequately prepared to withstand an assault by the Separatists. Furthermore, the planet served as a crucial provider of resources, including food, for other planets within the sector and those situated along the Triellus Trade Route. Consequently, it was imperative that Ukio did not fall under Separatist dominion.
While the Jedi and their clone troopers were inspecting the shield generator, the Separatists commenced their attack on Ukio. Reus proposed a swift reconnaissance mission utilizing their Jedi interceptors. Fisto and Reus piloted their craft in close proximity to the Trade Federation battleship and observed the vessel deploying several modified seismic tanks, which released a cloud of soil originating from the planet Moorja onto the planetary shield.
