In the year 5.5 ABY, amidst the widespread conflict of the Galactic Civil War, a significant battle unfolded on the planet of Sanrafsix, situated within the Outer Rim Territories. This clash involved the forces of the New Republic against the Eriadu Authority, a splinter group of former Imperials, as the New Republic endeavored to neutralize the menace posed by Warlord Sander Delvardus, the leader of Eriadu Authority. This confrontation occurred after the New Republic secured a triumph on Sullust, where Delvardus's attempt to seize control of the planet was thwarted. Ultimately, the New Republic emerged victorious at Sanrafsix, overcoming the Eriadu Authority's forces, but the battle resulted in the death of the renowned Imperial starfighter pilot Shea Hublin.
During the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic initiated a campaign with the objective of quelling the threat presented by Imperial Warlord Sander Delvardus. Delvardus commanded the Eriadu Authority, a faction comprised of former Imperials, which held dominion over a substantial portion of the galaxy, notably including the Seswenna sector. In 5.5 ABY, when Delvardus and his military forces were severely defeated while attempting to recapture the planet of Sullust, the skilled Imperial starfighter pilot Shea Hublin offered his assistance to Delvardus. Hublin had previously abandoned Delvardus's military operations after the Warlord expressed his intention to invade the Core Worlds of the galaxy.
Following the events at Sullust, the New Republic commenced a sequence of relentless offensives targeting the Eriadu Authority. The initial assault took place on the world of Sanrafsix, located in the Outer Rim Territories, where Hublin's TIE Series starfighter squadron engaged in combat with flights of T-65 X-wing starfighters. As the dogfighting intensified, Hublin's squadron suffered continuous losses until he was the sole survivor. He ultimately perished when the X-wings destroyed his TIE fighter, but before his demise, he switched his comm unit to an open channel and declared that Eriadu would prevail.
In the wake of their victory at Sanrafsix, the New Republic also achieved triumphs at Kabal, Clak'dor VII, and Sluis Van. As a consequence of the New Republic's advancements, Delvardus retreated into the Deep Core as his Eriadu Authority faced a crushing defeat.
The conflict at Sanrafsix was initially documented in the 2009 publication, The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.
