The conflict known as the Battle of Mantessa took place within the larger context of the Yuuzhan Vong War.
An invading force of Yuuzhan Vong, which included Fire Breathers, attempted to seize control of the planet of Mantessa; however, they were ultimately overcome by the Orange Panthacs, a specialized unit composed of B2 super battle droids.
Subsequently, the Orange Panthacs were awarded a distinguished citation by Chief of State Cal Omas in recognition of their successful defense of the planetary system.
