This engagement happened merely six days following the First Battle of Geonosis, which marked the initial conflict of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During this confrontation, the All Terrain Recon Transports belonging to Lightning Squadron identified a vulnerability in the Confederacy's defensive formation. They subsequently attacked the Multi-Troop Transport containing the Confederacy's main computer, briefly deactivating their battle droids. This disruption provided the 121st Regiment the time needed to advance beyond the enemy's powerful weaponry.
