Andrew Jack, born on January 28, 1944 and deceased on March 31, 2020, was a renowned English dialect coach. His career spanned over 80 films, commencing in the 1980s. Notably, he contributed to Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens (2015) by coaching Daisy Ridley and John Boyega in dialogue and accents, as well as guiding several supporting cast members in alien languages. Furthermore, he took on a small acting role as Caluan Ematt in the same film. Jack collaborated with actors such as Robert Downey Jr. in Chaplin (1992), and Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye (1995), in addition to other James Bond films. Moreover, Jack originated the Middle-earth accents for the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, instructing the actors in their use. He also conceived and taught the accents for the Greeks and Trojans in the film Troy (2004). Sadly, Andrew Jack passed away on March 31, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19.
