Alyssia, a princess belonging to the Hapan Royal House, was the younger sister of Chelik and a niece to Ta'a Chume, bearing a striking physical similarity to her. She is a character in legends.
Even among the Hapan royal family, Alyssia was known for her extraordinary cunning and ruthlessness. Driven by her ambition to become the Queen Mother of Hapes, she schemed against both her aunt, Ta'a Chume, and her sister, Chelik's, families.
As Teneniel Djo, the then-reigning Queen Mother, experienced a rapid decline in influence around 27 ABY, Alyssia initiated her schemes. She successfully gained the allegiance of Trisdin Gheer, a male courtesan who was both Ta'a Chume's lover and advisor. This provided Alyssia with valuable insights into the ruling family's plans. Furthermore, to undermine her sister Chelik's rival claim, she seemingly manipulated Chelik's daughter into attempting the assassination of Prince Isolder.
Ultimately, her machinations proved futile, as her cousin Tenel Ka ascended to the throne instead.
Alyssia could potentially be a daughter of Secciah, who was mentioned in the earlier novel, The Courtship of Princess Leia, as the next in line among Ta'a Chume's sisters. In The New Jedi Order: Dark Journey, the pirate Crimpler refers to Alyssia's lover and agent, Trisdin, as a "Ni'Korish traitor." If this is accurate, it suggests that Alyssia led the anti-Jedi faction within the Hapan court.
