The Algae Sward existed as an equatorial sea located on the planet Dac.
Its notoriety stemmed from an annual event: a synchronized bloom of thousands of single-celled organisms that turned the sea a verdant hue. To the south of the Algae Sward lay the Seascape Mountains, a chain of submerged peaks that served as the habitat for whaladons.
During the Battle of Calamari, the World Devastator Nullifier-5 suffered a malfunction directly above the Sward. Consequently, it sank to a depth of twenty meters, its repulsorlifts disabled. The Calamarian Council deemed its recovery cost-prohibitive, opting instead to only remove its control system. Over the subsequent years, it transformed into a habitat for indigenous marine creatures, including krakanas, sussimis and nano-stars. Furthermore, certain recreational pilots began charting its internal structure.
Ultimately, it was discovered that the Nullifier-5 was emitting hazardous substances, posing a threat of widespread contamination to the entire Sward. Experts were summoned to avert the impending ecological catastrophe.
