Akul Witig

Akul Witig, holding the rank of Lieutenant, was a male Quarren who served the Rebel Alliance as both a scout and an officer throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Witig's journey began at the Galactic Outdoor Survival School, where he was a scout student and a distinguished member of the Twilight Class. During his graduation year, he encountered Stren Grier, a new staff member at GOSS. Grier nearly bested Witig in a pivotal exercise, and Witig, perceiving Grier's Imperial sympathies, deemed him a potential danger to the Rebel Alliance.

Following graduation, Witig, like many of his peers, enlisted in the Rebel Alliance.

Early in the Galactic Civil War, Akul Witig joined the Alliance. He was given the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the security detail responsible for safeguarding the crucial Mon Calamari shipyards located at Dac. As a zealous officer, he successfully thwarted numerous plots by Imperial collaborators, thereby earning the respect of his commanding officers.

His outstanding performance led to his selection for Ma'w'shiye's Eclipse Team as an aquatic wilderness combatant. He participated with the unit in the notorious campaign on Karideph and other Rebel operations.

Witig and his unit participated in the Battle of Archais, facing off against Imperial-supported forces from the Assassin's Guild's and Imperial forces under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Freja Covell. The Rebel forces suffered greatly, exacerbated by the desertion of Rebel officer Mosara Thiirn, which caused significant damage and resulted in the deaths of numerous Rebel soldiers from three different units. Only the quick thinking of Norrion Glidamir and Shaparo saved Witig's unit, but Witig's friends died in the battle, and he developed a strong hatred for Thiirn as a result.

Lieutenant Witig held a position within the Task Force on Alliance Security. In this capacity, he authored insightful reports regarding potential threats to the Rebel Alliance, including individuals like Stren Grier and Moshara Tiirn. He also wrote about Dr. Tolum Harous, pointing out that the Alliance lacked knowledge of Harous's beliefs and suggesting that they attempt to recruit him for work on Dac. Another report by Witig focused on the Ubese bounty hunter known as Arcuse.
